1. Introduction
Welcome to Locktek Locksmiths, a sole trader locksmith service based in the UK. These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and regulations for the provision of our services. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not proceed with the service.
2. Services
We provide a range of locksmith services including, but not limited to:
- Lock fitting, repair, and replacement
- Emergency lock opening and entry
- Security consultation
3. Quotes and Pricing
- All quotes provided are estimates based on the information given by the customer.
- The final price may vary depending on the complexity of the job, the parts required, and any unforeseen circumstances.
- We will always inform you of any price changes before proceeding with the work.
- Our pricing will be a combination of labour costs, and the cost of parts and materials.
4. Payment
- Payment is due in full upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept payment via credit/debit card, and cash.
- A receipt for the service will be provided upon request.
- We reserve the right to charge interest on late payments at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5. Customer Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate and truthful information regarding the property and the nature of the job.
- You must ensure that you are the legal owner of the property or have explicit permission from the owner to authorise the work and be able to provide evidence of ownership or evidence of authority from the owner before any work commences by the locksmith.
- You must provide a safe and clear working environment for our locksmith to carry out the job.
6. Warranties and Guarantees
- All new parts and materials supplied by us come with a manufacturer’s warranty. We will provide details of this warranty upon request.
- Our labour is guaranteed for 7 days from the date of completion. This guarantee covers issues directly related to the quality of our workmanship. It does not cover problems caused by misuse, accidental damage, or wear and tear.
- If a problem arises within the guarantee period, you must contact us immediately. We will arrange a visit to assess the issue and, if it falls under our guarantee, we will rectify the problem free of charge.
7. Liability
- We take all reasonable care and skill in the execution of our services. However, we cannot be held liable for any pre-existing damage or issues with your locks or property that are not a direct result of our work.
- We are not liable for any consequential loss or damage arising from our services, except where prohibited by law.
8. Cancellation Policy
- You may cancel a booking at any time.
- If you cancel after we have dispatched a locksmith to your location, a call-out fee may be charged to cover our costs.
- We reserve the right to cancel a booking if we are unable to gain access to the property or if the working environment is deemed unsafe.
9. Data Protection
- We will collect and process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- We will only use your data for the purpose of providing our services and will not share it with third parties without your consent, unless required by law.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
